A new baby means an extra load of laundry almost every other day. From bibs to wash clothes to nappies to clothes, there are a hell lot of things to wash for such a tiny human being. Being a new mom, it is but natural to wonder whether to use a special laundry detergent for babies or to just stick on to the ones you use for the rest of the family? Well, the answer is pretty simple. If your baby has particularly sensitive skin or if he/she suffers from eczema, skin rashes or any other types of skin allergy, then, it is best to use baby specific laundry detergents till he/she is about 5 years. If on the other hand your baby doesn?t have any sensitivities or allergies, then you can very well resort to regular detergent you use for rest of family members. Honestly, I used baby laundry detergent only till my son was 3 months. During this period, I did not want to risk any rashes or allergies. He was already having a stubborn diaper rash which took a while to clear off. After this period, we started using regular detergent and there were no problems, even though my son had dry skin.
